Curriculum and Program Development

We all know how important your curriculum is on today's world. The development of a good curriculum guide is a long, ongoing, and cyclical process. The process moves from evaluating the current program to designing a better one, to implementing a new one, and back to evaluating the revised program. This is how it works: We begin with an review of existing curriculum to be changed or a needs assessment with stakeholder consultations, pre-requisites, objectives in knowledge, skills, and attitudes and behaviors to be developed. We have transitioned to competency-based approach to teaching and learning, which is more about what learners can do or demonstrate. It includes standards and related credit hours for theory, practicum (labs and fieldwork), and internship if applicable. It comes with an assessment framework aligned to the various objectives within the curriculum.
